M8Hexa.Alpha AoV Champions at Gegaria Fest 2018 – AOV Valor Cup champions Resurgence Sky finishes third

Malaysia’s very own M8Hexa.Alpha has recently been crowned champions for Garena’s Arena of Valor at Gegaria Festival 2018 which was held last week at Angsana Mall, Johor Bahru. By winning the whole tournament M8Hexa.Alpha brought home a cool RM 5,000 in prize money. 1st runner-up of the Arena of Valor tournament is another M8Hexa team by the name of M8Hexa.Penangfood who walked away with RM 3,000. Which means M8Hexa managed to walk away form the tournament with a prize pool of RM 8,000 in total.

In the 2nd runner-up place, surprisingly sits team Resurgence Sky from Singapore who had recently been named champions of the AOV Valor Cup in Comic Fiesta last December. Rounding up the top four in the 3rd runner-up place is Angel Alliance All Star. The teams who sit in 2nd and 3rd runners-up places both walk away with RM 1,000 prize money.

Arena of Valor was first launched in Taiwan on October 2016 and is a 5v5 Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) and has since been released in numerous Southeast Asian regions such as Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia to thunderous fanfare. In addition to being one of the most popular mobile games in Asia, AOV recently scooped up the award for Google Play’s Best of 2017 in Europe.

Gegaria Festival 2018 is a lifestyle and entertainment festival organised by Media Prima which is held at different locations across the country with the first one being held last January at the Setia City Convention Centre in Shah Alam. Each Gegaria Festival will have an eSports tournaments with different games at each location such as FIFA Online 3, Arena of Valor and League of Legends.

The next Gegaria Festival will be held at the Stadium Darul Makmur grounds in Kuantan, Pahang on the 24th of February. This time they will be holding a League of Legends tournament there with a prize pool of RM 10,000.
