What’s this? A new skin for Mercy in Overwatch? Yes, that is correct and there isn’t a special seasonal event happening in the game. It’s for awareness and all proceeds will go towards the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The folks over at Blizzard Entertainment has partnered with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to release a special charity skin for Overwatch‘s winged healer, Mercy. A few videos give you a look at the new skin in action as well as some details on Blizzard’s partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

From now until 21st May 2018, you can purchase the Pink Mercy skin for USD $14.99 (RM59.72) in-game or online. All proceeds from the legendary skin will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to help find a cure.

There are a few other ways to show your support. First, there is a new, limited-edition Pink Mercy shirt available on the Blizzard Gear Store which is available for USD $30 (RM119.52). Just like the Pink Mercy skin, all sales will also go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

You’ll also be able to earn a variety of Breast Cancer Research Foundation themed in-game sprays and player icons. All you’ll have to do is log into the game or watch between 2 to 6 hours of participating charity streams. In order to receive the rewards, you will have to link your Twitch account to your Blizzard account. These streams will start today and go until 21st May 2018.

Overwatch is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Blizzard’s Battle.net.

Pokdepinion: It’s a good initiative to not only raise awareness but also as a call for help from the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Your contribution, whether it be to help them or that you just want the pink Mercy skin, might actually end up saving lives.
