Some new Kingdom Hearts 3 footage has surfaced on the internet, and we now have an idea as to when we can expect a release date to be announced.

We’ve never really gotten much news on Kingdom Hearts 3 for the past decade so it’s a rare day whenever we get any form of solid information on the long-awaited 3rd entry in the trilogy. Of course, there are some big reveals that happened before but it gave us fans more questions rather than answers. Well, we have a special treat for you today.

Square Enix released a set of new images for Kingdom Hearts 3 and they’re pretty stunning. Not only that, some gameplay footage has made its way to YouTube, giving us a clearer idea on what we can expect with Sora in combat. We also see new characters such as Wreck-It Ralph to go along with Woody and Buzz from Toy Story, all of whom are making their Kingdom Hearts series debut.

While Kingdom Hearts 3 is set to release some time this year, we might actually get to know the game’s specific release date in just a few weeks, at least according to the game’s director.

As reported by Eurogamer, during the recent Kingdom Hearts 3 Premiere Event hosted by Square Enix giving press outlets a look at the upcoming title, the game’s director Tetsuya Nomura explained in a panel that the release date announcement for Kingdom Hearts 3 will be coming within the next few weeks.

Specifically, Nomura stated that the reveal is expected sometime “early next month,” and added that the game’s development team is making “final adjustments” and that “we are pretty firm on a certain date, so we hope to reveal it next month.”

While this seems to point towards an E3 2018 announcement since it’s just around the corner, they could just do it prior to the event if they wanted to. After all, this is something many are looking forward to so they don’t necessarily need a big stage to announce it.
