It Looks Like a Fast & Furious Game is Coming From Project CARS Developer
Project Fast & Furious
So apparently the CEO of Slightly Mad Studios, a British video game developer who’s responsible for the ever popular racing simulator game Project CARS and its sequel, Project CARS 2 (which was just released today on Steam and on PlayStation 4 and XBOX ONE systems) recently teased a potential Fast & Furious tie-in game is in the works.
In a recent Project CARS 2 stream by Australian YouTuber SpotTheOzzie, the studio’s CEO, Ian Bell unexpectedly dropped by to partake in a long and open chat with SpotTheOzzie regarding their much anticipated sequel Project CARS 2 as well some of Slightly Mad Studios’ upcoming developments. Check out the actual stream below for the full talk (it’s several hours long though so be warned!).
Not sure whether this was done intentionally or not but during Bell’s open chat with SpotTheOzzie he provided all who watched the video with a little tease on a particular project they are working on.
Guess what the latest Need for Speed game is doing, and have a think about which Hollywood film they’re copying – And then I can tell you we have a six year deal with that major Hollywood company that’ll beat what Need for Speed is doing. For the next six years.
It’s a pretty vague tease I admit. Based on that statement alone, they could be working on any movie tie-in racing game which isn’t necessarily a Fast & Furious title. For all you know they could be making a dark, gritty and balls to the walls interpretation of a Speed Race (actually now that I’ve written that down I actually wouldn’t mind a dark, gritty and balls to the walls version of Speed Racer). He did mention that they can’t really say much publicly regarding the project for maybe another two or three weeks.
However, Bell did add a sly little stinger that pretty much confirms that their next project is indeed a Fast 7 Furious tie-in.
If you look at me, I’m a bald guy and I work out a bit – So that’s a clue.
Slightly Mad Studios isn’t a stranger to the Fast & Furious style story-centric racing games as they were also the developers for two of EA’s previous Need for Speed titles (Need for Speed: Shift and Shift 2: Unleashed).
Slightly Mad Studios’ latest game, Project CARS 2 is available right now on Steam, PS4 and XBOX ONE.
Get it HERE!Pokdepinion: I’m really curious to see Slightly Mad Studios’ take on a Fast & Furious game. Imagine a Fast & Furious game with Project CARS beautiful graphics coupled with Dom Toretto’s adventures and you’ve got a potential recipe for success.
