Malaysian Team Placed 3rd at Legion of Champions II; Hard-fought Battles for Fire Dragoon

At the Lenovo Legion of Champions Series II tournament held in Thailand, a Malaysian team managed to nab 3rd place after a number of hard-fought battles, defeating 9 other teams in the process.

Fire Dragoon Placed 3rd at Lenovo Legion of Champions II

Just this past weekend, a major League of Legends tournament was held in Bangkok, Thailand. It was the Lenovo Legion of Champions Series II tournament, which features over 10 teams from Southeast Asia battling for their right to the RM58,000 prize pool.

Argma from Hong Kong was crowned the grand champion at this year’s Legion of Champion Series II after an intense 3-day tournament. They are then followed up by the runner-up of the competition, Wargods, from the Philippines. In 3rd place is our hometown heroes, Fire Dragoon, while Taiwan’s Once placed 4th at the tournament.

The winning team, Argma from Hong Kong, walked away with a cash prize of 210,000 ThB (approximately RM25,968.37), while the runner-up walked away with 100,000 ThB (approximately RM12,356.46). Fire Dragoon and Once on the other hand walked away with 50,000 ThB (approximately RM6,180.17).

For those of you who weren’t aware, the Legion of Champions Series II tournament involves qualifying teams from each country sent to Thailand to participate in the tournament. It is the 2nd League of Legends tournament organized by Lenovo, with the previous one also being held in Thailand. The teams that were participating in the tournament are:

• Fire Dragoon from Malaysia
• Argma from Hong Kong,
• Wargods from Phillippines
• Once from Taiwan
• Sovereign from Singapore
• HUBT from Vietname
• Insurgent from Thailand
• Strawberry Cheesecake from Thailand
• Nyan Nyan Toody from Thailand

It’s important to note that these are some of the best teams from their respective countries, which means going through the tournament is no easy feat.
