If you thought the announcement of Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition was rushed, you’d be surprised. Here’s a gameplay footage in all its cutesy chibi glory!

1st Gameplay for Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition Revealed

Back at Gamescom in Germany, Square Enix surprised many by announcing Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition, a mobile version of its successful J-RPG Final Fantasy XV.

Gameplay footage for Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition has surfaced, and it looks promising for a mobile port of such a visually-pleasing game.

The game is rendered in a rather adorable chibi style, with the full main story of the original game included. The biggest difference is that it’s a bit more linear due to its episodic nature. The first episode will be free, and then there are going to be nine more episodes that you’ll have to pay for.

If you missed out on the announcement trailer, you can check it out just above here. Fair warning, it looks super adorable.

On the console front, Square Enix is keeping up with the updates Final Fantasy XV for both PS4 and Xbox One. Alongside the Assassin’s Festival crossover event, they recently released patch 1.15, while the story DLC Episode Ignis is scheduled for release in December.

Previously, we also heard a possibility of a Switch version of the game coming out, the resolution on Xbox One X, on top of more details on DLC and on the possibility of more crossovers.

Final Fantasy XV is currently available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while the Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition will release this fall for iOS, Android, and Windows 10 devices. A Windows Edition will then follow on PC via Steam in early 2018.

Pokdepinion: I’ve had mixed feelings with Final Fantasy XV. I mean, it was enjoyable…up to a certain point. After that, it was just all downhill. Perhaps a mobile version might save the game.
