The God of Thunder himself appears as a DLC character in Injustice 2, ready to rain on the parades of puny mortal beings in the popular fighting game.

New Character Joins The Injustice 2 Roster

It would seem that NetherRealm Studios really love crossovers, and especially those among its own fighting universes. We’ve seen Scorpion before and now we’re seeing another one. During the Pro Series Grand Finals hosted in Hollywood, the developer and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced that another popular character from Mortal Kombat is coming to Injustice 2.

That beloved character is none other than the God of Thunder himself, Raiden, and he will be added as DLC part as Fighter Pack 2 this October. Raiden isn’t the first Mortal Kombat character to appear in Injustice 2, as Sub-Zero has been playable for a while, released within the first fighter pack.

The God of Thunder definitely appears to not have lost his spark (pun intended and I am not sorry for that), and he definitely does not appear out of place among DC Comics’ superheroes, especially thanks to an appropriate hero suit that makes him look like he always belonged there.

You can check it with the trailer I’ve included above. Injustice 2 is currently available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while a mobile version is also playable on iOS and Android. Of course, don’t expect the mobile version to play as good as its console counterpart but it’s a pretty decent game to pass the time.

Pokdepinion: Well, the Injustice 2 tournament over at Hollywood was pretty exhilarating, with SonicFox proving why he’s a top player with Red Hood and Captain Cold. He did pull off an epic comeback with Erron Black against Tekken Master during the Mortal Kombat tournament at EVO 2016. Having a major announcement that Raiden is joining the character roster shows that these tournaments aren’t just something for eSports-goers as there can be major surprises for the gamer crowd as a whole.
