Nintendo Switch owners, rejoice. Apex Legends will finally be making its way to the platform, giving you the full battle royale experience in the comforts of the console-handheld hybrid gaming system.

Apex Legends Coming to Nintendo Switch This March 2021

Previously, it was confirmed that Apex Legends will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch at EA Play 2020. Unfortunately, there have been delays to that plan. Now, we can confirm that the game will be coming in time to enjoy most parts of Season 8.

It will officially be made available starting 9th March 2021, and it will still be free to play. You can download the game via the Nintendo eShop. Furthermore, you can purchase the premium Apex Coins, which can be used to purchase in-game cosmetics and the game’s Battle Pass, on the eShop as well.

To give Nintendo Switch owners a more even playing field as a month would have passed in Season 8 by the time the game is launched, every Switch player will get the first 30 levels of the Battle Pass for free. Cross play will also be present, which will result in an instant boost in player base overall for the game.

It’s worth noting that you won’t be able to carry over your progression from other accounts to the Nintendo Switch version Apex Legends. According to Lead Producer Drew McCoy, “Unfortunately we won’t ever be able to do cross-progress or cross-purchases”. Interestingly, a recent Reddit AMA in December 2020 revealed that Respawn does want to introduce cross-progression, but development on that is still in its early stages.

Apex Legends will be coming to the Nintendo Switch on 9th March 2021. It’s already available for free on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
