Assassin’s Creed III Remastered Confirmed for Nintendo Switch

After word spread on the internet about Assassin’s Creed III Remastered possibly coming for the Nintendo Switch, it has since been confirmed to be true as shown at Nintendo Direct.

After being listed on Ubisoft’s official website earlier this week, the Nintendo Switch version of Assassin’s Creed III Remastered was made official during the Nintendo Direct. Just like how the game will on the other platforms, the Nintendo Switch version will boast the same combination of the base game of Assassin’s Creed III, The Tyranny of King Washington DLC, and the spin-off game Assassin’s Creed Liberation.

Assassin’s Creed III Remastered: Players will embody Connor, a master Assassin born of the beauty and brutality of 18th century America. As a bloody revolution draws near, your tribe is threatened by a powerful group seeking to crush the American Revolution and control the thirteen colonies. Shocked into action by the devastation of your village, you pledge your life to the cause of freedom and embark on a decades-long quest to achieve it.

The Tyranny of King Washington: Explore an alternate history where one of America’s greatest heroes, George Washington, succumbs to the temptation of infinite powerThe new King is born and his reign leaves no one untouched. Players must return freedom to the land by dethroning the tyrant our hero once called a friend.

Assassin’s Creed Liberation Remastered: Follow Aveline’s story as she battles Spanish forces in the American south to win freedom for her land and people. A woman of conviction, Aveline fights for freedom in 18th century New Orleans, a city on the brink of a rebellion as the Spanish Empire imposes its new rule. Embark on an epic journey that will take her from the crowded streets of New Orleans to voodoo-haunted swamps and ancient Mayan ruins.

So what makes the Nintendo Switch version different? Just one thing really; release date. While the other platforms are getting it on 29th March 2019, this version will be coming out later on 21st May 2019. That’s roughly eight weeks of difference but nothing too bad.

Be sure to check out the trailer for the game at the top of this post, courtesy of the folks over at Ubisoft.

Pokdepinion: I was a bit surprised when they demo’d the game at Nintendo Direct as it did seem to lag a bit. I would guess that the additional eight weeks will be used to further optimize the game to make it run as smooth as possible on the system.
