During the Super Smash Bros Ultimate Nintendo Direct presentation, we had official confirmation on two new characters from Castlevania coming to the game.

Two New Characters from Castlevania Coming to Super Smash Bros Ultimate

As one of the most anticipated titles of the 2018 holiday season, Super Smash Bros Ultimate is bringing over every character seen so far from the series across its almost 20 year history. Now the next game in the series will also be bringing over some new faces from Nintendo’s own Castlevania.

During today’s Nintendo Direct for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, series director Masahiro Sakurai revealed that Castlevania‘s iconic protagonist Simon Belmont will be joining the roster as the next fighter for the massive fighting game, alongside Richter, the protagonist from Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, who will be an Echo Fighter for Simon.

For those of you who aren’t aware, Echo Fighters are characters who share the same moveset as another character. This doesn’t mean that they function the same as they may have different properties with their attack from the character whom their moveset is based on. Examples of Echo Fighters are like how Lucina is to Marth.

In addition to the confirmation of Simon and Richter, Nintendo also revealed that more additions from the series will be present in Ultimate, including a new map based on the iconic Dracula’s Castle. Symphony of the Night‘s Alucard will also be entering the fight as a new Assist Trophy for players to wield in battle.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will release for Nintendo Switch on 7th December 2018.

Pokdepinion: Well, I’m certainly getting more excited about the game. December could not come any sooner.
