The folks at Nintendo has officially confirm the release of the more affordable version of their Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, which is set to be released this 20th of September 2019.

The new Nintendo Switch Lite is a lot smaller compared to the original, being at only 5.5-inch and as you’d expect from its name, it is a whole lot cheaper (cheaper by $100 to be precise). There’s some drawbacks to the new handheld console though. Aside from its size, you can’t connect it to your TV and the Joy-Con controllers can’t be taken apart as it is built in.

The company has said that the battery life of the new Lite version offers a slightly improved performance. This can be understandable thanks to its size where a smaller display would consume lesser power.

Coming in with three color variants; yellow, grey, and turquoise, you can get the new Nintendo Switch Lite at $199.99 (~RM828).

Previously we’ve reported that there will be two new variants for the Switch, a high-end version and a more affordable option. Seeing that the Nintendo Switch Lite fits the category of the latter, we could probably soon see the former soon.
