Apex Legends: Here's Why We're Not Getting Titans YET

Given that Apex Legends is set in the same universe as the popular FPS franchise, Titanfall, many gamers want to see the addition of Titans in the popular battle royale game. As it turns out, it was actually considered but here’s why it hasn’t happened yet.

Apex Legends: Here's Why We're Not Getting Titans YET

During a recent Apex Legends Season 11 preview event, there was a Q&A session with Respawn Entertainment which led to the question of Titans being include in the game. This is after making note that the new Storm Point map is 15% larger than World’s Edge, and asking if there would ever be a map large enough to accommodate the large machines.

Team Director at Respawn Entertainment, Steven Ferreira, the maps do have the potential to grow even larger but for Titans, the size of the map isn’t an issues. He confirmed that they’ve “tried Titans a few different times in building prototypes through Apex, there are some balance issues that Titans bring to the game that we have yet to find the right solution to.”

He then added on by saying that it doesn’t mean they won’t find the right solution, but increasing the size of the map will not be part of that solution. However, adding Titans after being 11 seasons in will be complicated as these machines could be easily too overpowered.

The good news here is that they definitely did think about adding them to Apex Legends, but it’s certainly not something that will be happening anytime soon. On the bright side, it’s good to know that they’ve tested it, so they don’t have make something from scratch in development. We will report more on this as soon as information becomes available so stay tuned.

For now Apex Legends Season 11 is expected to launch on 2nd November 2021, featuring the new C.A.R. SMG from Titanfall that can use both light and heavy ammo, and the new legend Ash.

Pokdepinion: I would personally enjoy a special boss battle mode where a bunch of players fight together against a Titan for a limited time. This would be a very fun event, especially if it can be played with specific group of friends like within the Club for instance.
