Here we are, still waiting for Techland’s Dying Light 2 to be released. While there’s no new updates on the release just yet, it seems that the company has said that the world will be a huge one at least.

Dying Light 2 map to be 4x bigger

Dying Light 2 mapRevealed in a recent interview with WCCFTech, Lukasz Burdka, the Senior Technology Programmer for Dying Light 2 has assured that the map will be four times bigger but adds that it’s not a “straightforward comparison”.

The estimate that the map in Dying Light 2 is four times bigger than that of the original game is the most precise estimate that we can provide. The map of Dying Light 2 is much more vertical and gives many more exploration opportunities, so the city feels even bigger than it is.

They’ve also talked on the platform availability. Though the game was revealed years ago when the current consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X) wasn’t released yet, they’ve said that the game will still be making its way to PS4 and Xbox One, regardless.

The company hopes to avoid the mess that CD Projekt Red had with Cyberpunk 2077 though as they’ve said “we make every effort to ensure that the game’s quality on PS4 or Xbox One is at the highest level. We started testing on the older generation consoles much earlier than in other projects”.

Aside from consoles mentioned earlier, the game will also be available to play on PC. Despite the fact that there’s no official release date being announced, Techland has said that the game will indeed launch this year in 2021. Pokdepinion: I was actually satisfied with the original game’s map size but to think that it’ll be four times bigger? That’s pretty big to say the least. I just hope that it’s not just big in size but feels empty, if you know where I’m getting at.
