RTX 2080 Ti Struggles in Watch Dogs: Legion Full HD 60 FPS
As we’ve reported from the Ubisoft Forward digital event, Watch Dogs: Legion will be one of the highly anticipated games from the company. While it’s expected to push the limits of gaming technology, we don’t know to what extent that would be the case, that is until now.
GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Struggles With Watch Dogs: Legion on Full HD 60 FPS
The folks over at Digital Foundry managed to get their hands on a build of Watch Dogs: Legion. It appears that the game has a 30 FPS lock setting, which is expected to work similarly to consoles with the graphics settings set to Ultra and ray-tracing enabled. The PC that was running the game uses an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, which allegedly struggled with the game.
It appears to be impossible to get the running at a stable 60 FPS in Full HD when the framerate isn’t locked. It’s interesting to think how intensive the game can be to put such a card into major strains. However, it’s worth noting that this is far from the final build of the game. That will include a bunch of optimizations that will significantly boost frame rates, on top of stability. With that being said, we’re not surprised to see Ultra settings and ray tracing really pushing systems to the limit.
Digital Foundry didn’t manage to run the game with DLSS 2.0 enabled, which is expected to boost frame rates with its upscale / downscale AI-based algorithm. We do expect it to make a huge difference in the final game, such as finally letting you play in 4K at 60 FPS with ray-tracing enabled. We will be reporting more on this as soon as information becomes available so stay tuned.
Pokdepinion: If the final game is that tough to run in Full HD, then the minimum requirements must be really heavy.
