The last time we had Steam Flash Sales was back in 2016. Now, it looks like it might just be coming back, which would be great for PC gamers everywhere.

Years ago, there was a special occasion that many gamers looked forward to known as the Steam Flash Sales. It offers plenty of discounts for a short period of time, with many of the games being offered for about  half of its original price. It used to happen often but it suddenly stopped in 2016.

Well, that may be changed soon as it is being reported that Steam Flash Sales is set to make a return.

Tyler McVicker, a representative of Valve News Network, tweeted out that it will be making a return but with a few adjustments. They will allow the developers to have more control over how long their titles will be on sale.

According to McVicker, the new flash sales will let developers set time limits for their sales that can last as short as six hours or to even double that with sales lasting 12 hours instead. This kind of limitation would likely add to the urgency of a flash sale, a change that developers will likely hope get more gamers to pick up their creations.

McVicker also shared an image of the upcoming return of the flash sales via his tweet. The head of the Valve News Network YouTube channel said elsewhere that he’s “sent this stuff all the time” and has a history of accurately reporting on changes that affect Steam.

Steam Flash Sales was a great alternative for gamers who wanted to pick up a few games at low prices but not wait for any major sales like the Summer Sale. Of course, there’s usually an element of surprise since it is a flash sale, so many people might end up missing out on you but if you’re lucky, then it’s like the holiday season came early.

For now, we shall wait for an official announcement before concluding this to be a fact. So take this information with a grain of salt at the moment.
