Fortnite: Battle Royal is growing at an exponential rate, and they’ve broken the 7 million milestone. Along with that, a new update has been released.

Fortnite: Battle Royal Reached 7 Million Milestone

After its release back in July, the action building game Fortnite jumped on the bandwagon of survival shooters (think PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) with the release of its Fortnite: Battle Royale mode a few weeks ago, with the mode having built up momentum that shows little signs of slowing down.

Epic Games has announced that Fortnite: Battle Royale has crossed over seven million players since debuting last week, which is a dramatic increase in the player base since Epic confirmed that the mode had reached one million players in its first 24 hours.

Of course, the new milestone set by the game shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise given that the mode is free-to-play and is available on three different platforms. However, it does speak to the rabid popularity of “survival shooters” in the past year and how it definitely seems like there is a high demand for the game type across consoles and PC.

In addition to the new player base milestone, Epic also announced that a new update for the game is available, which also brings along with it the addition of Duos game types and Supply Drops, which will provide players with occasional spawns of some of the game’s rarest (and most powerful) weaponry.

Fortnite: Battle Royale is out now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac in Early Access. The game will officially release sometime next year.

Pokdepinion: Well, here’s an alternative to PUBG if you all didn’t buy the game. It’s a pretty good game too.
