Horizon Zero Dawn Sold Over 2.6 Million Copies; Best-selling New Party IP Launch on PS4!

Horizon Zero Dawn broke the record with over 2.6 million copies sold within 2 weeks of its launch!

When we first got a glimpse of it at E3, people all over the world got excited. Well, mostly because we’ve been seeing too many reboots and unnecessary sequels, so we became quite thirsty for something new.

When the release date was upon us, people started to wonder if it was all hype and no substance. Well, judging by the sales numbers, I think Horizon Zero Dawn is doing extremely well.

Horizon Zero Dawn Sales Record

Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially announced that Horizon Zero Dawn has managed to sell over 2.6 million copies within 2 weeks of the game’s launch. Keep in mind, this open-world adventure launched on February 28 2017, which is a little over 2 weeks ago.

And because of its stellar sales record within such a short period of time, Horizon Zero Dawn is now the best-selling new first party intellectual property (IP) launch on the PlayStation 4 today. This also marks Guerrilla Games’ biggest debut ever.

For those of you who aren’t aware, Horizon Zero Dawn follows the story of Aloy, a young hunter on a quest to discover her destiny among the remnants of the ancient past. The game is set in a lush, post-apocalyptic world where machines rule the world and mankind is no longer the dominant species.

It’s a pretty damn good game if I must say so myself. You should go get a copy yourself if you haven’t yet. I doubt you’ll regret it unless you’re not into RPGs or a lot of adventuring in games.

Pokdepinion: I honestly expected Horizon Zero Dawn to be able to sell well. After all, it’s one of the most highly anticipated games of this year. However, I did not expect it to sell that much in a short amount of time. Congratulations to Guerilla Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment for a stellar sales record.
