New Expansion Map for The Division 2 is an Exact Recreation of Lower Manhattan 31

We recently reported about the upcoming Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 expansion, Warlords of New York. While explorable areas tend to be a re-imagining of actual places, assuming the location isn’t fictional, the new map is actually an exact recreation of Lower Manhattan.

Ubisoft Leamington and Reflections Producer, Nick Scurr, spoke to Dualshockers recently about the new map. It has been mentioned that the Warlords of New York is a 1:1 recreation of Lower Manhattan, but may not be as recognizable due to the area being hit by a natural disaster:

Ubisoft Leamington and Reflections Producer Nick Scurr said:

It is a 1:1 recreation of that area of Manhattan! So, in Division 1, that was not the case. But when we went to Washington, D.C., we had the goal of doing that so, Washington D.C. was 1:1. And then, of course, coming to Manhattan, with the four main zones we have, they are 1:1 recreations of those areas. They might not look quite the same because, obviously, a hurricane swept in and really changed the landscape. But if you’re familiar with those areas in New York City, then you’re going to see famous places like Chinatown, Wall Street, and maybe even the Statue of Liberty off the shore.

In case you were wondering, the four zones that make up the Warlords of New York’s Lower Manhattan map refer to Battery Park, Civic Center, Two Bridges, and Financial District. If you’ve been to the area before, I wouldn’t be surprised if you were hit by an odd sense of nostalgia or déjà vu.

The Division 2: Warlords of New York expansion will be coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on 3rd March 2020.
