New Tales of Arise Trailer Shown Off at Tales of Festival 2019

At Tales of Festival 2019 which took place at the Yokohama Arena, fans were treated to a brand new trailer of the upcoming JRPG, Tales of Arise. It’s not entirely new as it included some bits of the E3 2019 reveal trailer, but there’s a fair bit of new screens and details there were unveiled.

Takuya Sato tweeted out that he is the voice actor for the game’s male protagonist, Alphen. He also mentioned that he can’t share more details on the story yet but he’s grateful to be part of the project. As for the female protagonist, her name has been confirmed to be Shionne / Shion.

Despite E3 arguably being the biggest gaming expo in the world, it’s interesting that Bandai Namco made a new trailer specifically for the Japan-only Tales of Festival event as opposed to just airing the same trailer. However, the event itself is huge for fans of the Tales of JRPG series, and it shows that the company is paying special attention to the fans of the series.

The gameplay of Tales of Arise is expected to be a noticeable departure from the series. As to how different it will be, that one is unknown at this point in time. However, it will still retain the series’ signature Linear Motion Battle System, albeit one that’s specifically designed for the game itself.

Tales of Arise will be coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2020.

Pokdepinion: I hope the Japanese and English version will have a simultaneous release. I really wanna see how different it is from the usual entries and I do have a craving for RPG now. Can’t wait to play the game.
