The bad news is that Square Enix is delaying the release of Kingdom Hearts 3. The good news is that we know why, and now we have an exact release date.

Square Enix Delays Kingdom Hearts 3 Release

At the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra concert held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles today, Kingdom Hearts 3 Director Tetsuya Nomura got on stage to introduce a brand new trailer and announce the much-anticipated release date for the game.

The trailer is said to showcase content from Ratatouille and Tangled, and it’ll probably be published soon. Yes, you won’t find that new trailer around on the internet just yet. Most interestingly, we finally got a release date of the game. Kingdom Hearts 3 will officially launch on 29th January 2019 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Japan will be getting the game slightly earlier, on 25th January 2019.

During his brief speech, Nomura-san apologized for the delay but did not provide a specific reason. He also promised that there will be more to see during E3 2018. To be more precise, there will be more than one trailer incoming.

This did not come off as a surprise given how quiet the game’s development has been as of late as normally, there would be more things being shown as we approach the release date. Square Enix did something similar with Final Fantasy XV, even delaying it for an additional 2 months when the initial release date came close.

On the upside, it’s not that much of a delay and January isn’t that far off. Once again, Kingdom Hearts 3 will be coming out on 29th January 2019, or 25th January 2019 for the Japanese release, for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Pokdepinion: One would think it would be better had they not mentioned 2018 at all for the release window but then again, fans were getting impatient. Square Enix would’ve gotten heat either by telling or not telling anything.
