Ubisoft Reveals Space Junkies Open Beta — Arcade VR Shooter That Pits PC And PS4 Players Together
Just recently, Ubisoft revealed Space Junkies, an upcoming arcade VR shooter game. While it’s not released just yet, Ubisoft will be holding an open beta on March 22 1am (UTC+8) through to March 24 7pm (UTC+8) on Playstation VR. As for PC, it will run from the March 25th 7pm in the same time zone that you’ll be able to play with Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and Windows Mixed Reality (WMR) headsets.
With the open beta, players will be given the chance to play the game for free ahead of its worldwide launch on March 26. It will offer the same experience as the full game, where it features four different PvP modes playable across several maps as well as a variety of characters each with unique characteristics.
The one thing that caught our attention is that Playstation VR and PC players will be able to challenge or team up with each other thanks to full cross-play support during the open beta and at launch, a first for both platforms by Ubisoft.
Space Junkies is a jetpack-fueled arcade shooter developed exclusively for VR gaming. The game features fast-paced multiplayer action set in three-dimensional space arenas and leverages full VR embodiment to immerse players in microgravity battles. In addition, the game will receive regular new content beyond release, including new game modes, new maps, weapons, and customization items.
Pokdepinion: The game looks cool. I’d love to try it but I don’t own any VR headsets… Maybe I should borrow someone’s..
