Nintendo has shared some numbers with regards to their gaming consoles, which includes the Nintendo Switch, the handheld Nintendo 3DS, and even the older Nintendo Wii U for comparison. It’s a huge feat by the Japanese gaming giant.

Almost 18 Million Nintendo Switch Units Shipped

Almost 18 Million Nintendo Switch Units Shipped

The folks over at Nintendo have updated its lifetime shipment totals for the Nintendo Switch and the handheld Nintendo 3DS to March 31st 2018, and it would seem that there is indeed a good number of the new console reaching store shelves worldwide.

As you can see in the picture at the top of this post, lifetime shipments for the Nintendo Switch has reached 17.79 million as of March 31st 2018. At the same time, its older handheld 3DS sibling reached 72.53 million units shipped, which is a huge number.

Essentially, this means that the Switch shipped 2.93 million units in the first three months of 2018, and 15.05 million units during the past fiscal year. Interestingly, the manufacturer’s forecast was quite spot on, and actual shipment exceeded it by 50,000 units.

The numbers for the Nintendo Switch are definitely impressive considering that they have been achieved in little more than a year since its launch on March 3rd 2017.

For the sake of comparison, you can check out the numbers that Nintendo released for their most recent milestone for Nintendo Switch sales by clicking right here. That is amazing feat for a console that is barely past a year old. Good to know they are doing better for this than they did for the Wii U.

Pokdepinion: Well, it’s good to see that the Nintendo Switch continues to thrive since its release. There have been many people who doubted the company since the failure that is the Wii U, drawing comparisons to Sega in the past but clearly, they have their heads in the game and are not looking to exit anytime soon.
