HMD Global, the home of Nokia smartphones, has announced the roll out of Android 9 Pie to their Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 7 Plus devices.

Nokia 6.1 Plus & Nokia 7 Plus Gets Android 9 Pie

The new update will be rolled out to the two smartphones in phases throughout this month, October 2018. Users of the Nokia 6.1 Plus have started receiving the update through Nokia phones beta labs.

Early adopters will be able to provide direct feedback to Android after testing the beta version of the new update.

Coming with Google’s software, where only the essential apps loaded, both the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 7 Plus serve up Android 9 Pie with no bloatware, skins UI changes, or even hidden processes that eat up your battery life.

The new update focuses on a more tailored experience, with the emphasis on AI, machine learning, and digital wellbeing. Featuring the mentioned AI capabilities, Android 9 Pie comes in with features such as Adaptive Battery and App Actions, ensuring smarter resourcing of power and processing.

With App Actions, which is unique to Android One devices and Google Pixel phones running Android 9 Pie, it learns more about your daily usage and assists you with your everyday tasks. Your device will then predict and recommend your next action at the moment it is needed the most.

If you own a Nokia 6.1 Plus, you can try out these sets of features yourself by registering on the Nokia phones beta labs.

Pokdepinion: Well that’s the best part of having a Nokia device right now, you are assured of getting updates for your device. I’m still stuck here on Oreo..
