If there was one thing that we loved about the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro (M1), it was the battery life. It lasted days when used lightly, and even if you gamed on it, it would still last you the whole day, no questions asked. Well it seems that the next generation of the long-lasting champ is going to appear, after the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro (M2) was seen registered by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

The only information we managed to glean from these EEC registrations are the Android version, which is going to be Android version 8 (Oreo). Also interesting was the two codenames for the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro (M2), as both ZB633KL and ZB631KL correspond to the ZenFone Max Pro (M2) moniker. The devices specifications should not stray far from the current generation, but perhaps we will see an upgraded camera and maybe a notched display to keep up with the times. Or perhaps an even larger battery?

Currently, the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro (M1) is the most affordable smartphone with a Snapdragon 636 mated to a 5000 mAh battery. It also runs stock Android 8.1 Oreo, which gives it a differentiating factor from the rest of the ASUS ZenFone series. The combination of an efficient yet snappy chipset and large battery gave it a huge following among mobile gamers on a budget.

Pokdepinion: Upgrade the camera to the one featured in the ASUS ZenFone 5, and the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro (M2) could very well be one of the best smartphone in a long time.
