Celcom Introduces SafeMate — Malaysia’s First Emergency Response Sidekick!

Celcom Axiata Berhad has today introduced SafeMate, which is a personal security device that allows users to request emergency assistance anywhere and anytime.

With SafeMate, users can get emergency aid with just a simple click on their smart devices and that would alert first responders to their location for immediate assistance, even when their phone is locked. Paired with ‘React Mobile Safety App’, users can install the app on their mobile phones and remain connected to SafeMate, all through Bluetooth.

Once activated, it will trigger a distress signal to a 24/7 emergency call center, followed with a user vitrifaction process on regards to the emergency situation. If in any case there is no response from the user, the emergency call center will then notify the user’s registered emergency contacts. Local authorities, such as the police will be contacted, if there is no response after contacting the selected emergency contacts.

SafeMate is equipped with a GPS tracking features that enables selected family members or friends to locate users and allows them to receive immediate notifications at any time of emergency.

For a limited time, Celcom post-paid users can register for SafeMate with an upfront payment of RM240 and enjoy an early bird offer of RM9.80 for 12 months, which includes a one-year warranty on the device.

It is available at all Celcom bluecube stores in the country. To activate it, you would need to install the React Mobile – Safety App which can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play.
