HyperX, the gaming arm of Kingston, have been hard at work it seems. They have prepared two new additions to their gaming peripherals lineup, the HyperX Alloy Origins mechanical keyboard and HyperX Cloud Orbit S. These two peripherals mark HyperX’s entry into the world of custom mechanical keyboard switches and planar magnetic gaming headphones.

HyperX Alloy Origins

This is the first keyboard by HyperX to feature HyperX’s very own mechanical switches. The switches are lighter than Cherry MX Reds, while also featuring an earlier actuation point at 1.8mm and a shorter 3.8mm travel distance. The HyperX mechanical switches are rated at 80 million clicks, which is longer than what Cherry promises.

HyperX also designed the HyperX Alloy Origins to be better looking as well, going for a curved, all-aluminium build and of course, RGB illumination. Thanks to the design of the switch, HyperX also promises better lighting with the DIP RGB LEDs being closer to the keycaps than Cherry MX’s switches and their SMD LEDs.

The HyperX Alloy Origins will be available in Q3 2019, priced at $110 (~RM461).

HyperX Cloud Orbit S

These headphones quite literally blew my mind when I first put it on. Thanks to their partnership with Audeze and Waves Technology, HyperX is bringing gaming audio to the next level. These babies feature 100mm planar magnetic drivers instead of conventional dynamic drivers. The soundstage on these are just phenomenal, and Waves Nx 3D audio technology further enhances it with head tracking technology.

These won’t come cheap at $330 (~RM1381), but it may just be worth it for the ultimate gaming audio experience. The HyperX Cloud Orbit S is also slated for a Q3 2019 release.

Pokdepinion: The keyboard might take some getting used to, but the HyperX Cloud Orbit S is definitely what I want right now.
