Mountain Dew play hosts to the Dew Challenge 2017 Amateur Dota 2 Tournament. The tournament is back again for a third year running, with a prize pool of SGD50,000.

The tournament which has been running for three years straight, has opened its doors to Singapore teams to participate for the very first time. Also new to the tournament, live streams will be made available to the public.

Dew Challenge 2017 Dota 2 kicked-off things in Penang over the course of two days, battling out for that top four spot within the region to proceed to the group stage. A total of 20 teams (100 participants) participated in Penang, with eventual teams take took top spots were Penang Hunter, Exes, 5noob, and finally Maisloki.

Over in Kuantan, the second leg of the tournament was also held. Similar to Penang, there were a total of 20 teams, with ShroudFanBoiss, Team Solid, WildfireD and 100+ qualifying for the next stage.

Overall, there were 1440 participants from 288 teams,  with 224 teams coming from Malaysia and 64 of them hailing from Singapore. To reach the finals, teams need to battle it out on a state level. You can catch and watch the upcoming rounds in the following regions and locations:

Malaysia

  • Kuala Lumpur at TBUN 3 Internet Cafe (Wangsa Maju) on 11 and 12 November 2017
  • Johor at 818 CC (Johor Bahru) on 18th and 19th November 2017
  • Selangor at INC (SS2) on 25th and 26th November

Singapore

  • Pasir Ris at Colosseum on 11 and 12 November 2017
  • Outram Alienware on 18 and 19 November 2017

Subsequently, top 24 teams from Malaysia and top 12 teams from Singapore will then compete at a group stage level which will be held at Alienware cyber cafe in Outram, Singapore on the 25th November 2017.

Those who are interested in joining in the next leg of the competition may do so by registering their team members at Mountain Dew’s site. All that needs to be done afterwards is just attend and battle it out on the stage.
