Today marks the day where Digi Telecommunications and ZTE Malaysia to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to further explore the potential of 5G technology in the country.

The partnership will see them explore several aspects of required collaborations to make 5G technology a reality in Malaysia, including 5G live trials of end-to-end network functions and features, and pilot trials of 5G use cases for enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB), Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency Communication (URLLC) and Massive Machine Type Communications (MMTC).

The trials will be conducted using low, mid, and high 5G spectrum bands.

Previously Digi gave us a heads up of their thoughts of 5G technology in Putrajaya, which is also the same place they’ve held their 5G demo show at. You definitely should check the links out to know what 5G can bring to the country, besides faster connectivity.

Pokdepinion: Well you can’t do it alone, let alone a big project such as 5G. Hopefully they’ll have good news for us soon.
