Dyson is a brand known for home appliances first and foremost, but that didn’t stop the company from venturing into other markets, such as building an EV that eventually never came to be. It also used some of its air purification expertise to create the sci-fi-looking Dyson Zone headphones-plus-air-purifier, but today the company is launching the OnTrac headphones – an audio product, plain and simple.
Dyson OnTrac
According to Dyson, the OnTrac offers “best-in-class” noise cancellation with 8 microphones and 384kHz sampling rate to suppress up to 40dB of external noise. As for the drivers, two 40mm, 16-ohm neodymium speaker drivers can reproduce frequencies from 6Hz – 21kHz, with the speakers tilted 13° for a “more direct audio response”.
The batteries are housed within the headband to enable a more even weight distribution. The two cells combined provides up to 55 hours of battery life. As for the housing, Dyson offers several finishes, including: CNC Aluminium, CNC Copper, Ceramic Cinnabar, CNC Black Nickel, and more. This can be paired with cushions of various colors ranging from Oyster Pink to Ultra Blue.
Dyson notes that the OnTrac will not be presently available in Malaysia at the time of this writing, though it’s likely that this will be available at a later date.
