Funmaii is introducing three types of convenience stores, Basic, Signature and Concept. Basic will be your standard convenience store, offering cashless payment and small seating areas. Signature stores will feature a larger chillout area for small events. Meanwhile, Concept stores will offer more products and services not offered at your typical convenience stores. Funmaii plans to include dessert, coffee bars and even offer products from the fashion and beauty industries to satisfy an even wider demographic with a convenience store experience.

The Funmaii shopping experience is centered around the all-in-one mobile app. The app functions as in e-wallet, allowing customers to track their expenses, redeem rewards and rebates. For security purposes, each payment must be authorized with a 6-digit password. Fret not if you aren’t into installing an app just to perform payments, as they will accept Mastercard and Visa credit cards.

Funmaii first store is located in Sunway Nexis, Kota Damansara, opened in January 2018. The Bandar Puteri, Puchong outlet opened its doors on 18th March, marking Funmaii’s push into the cashless retail ecosystem. Around 30 more outlets are planned over the next 12 months, with a target of 100 outlets open by 2019.

You can download the Funmaii app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

Pokdepinion: It’s nice to see more places adopt cashless payment. Man, we even have hawkers accepting bitcoin.
