Just a few days ago G.Skill announced their DDR4 4133 MHz RAM kit but they have really made it clear that they won’t be resting on their laurels just yet, and G.Skill is welcoming us to check out the G.Skill TridentZ 4200Mhz on their official website.

It’s all began in July 2015 when G.Skill first announced their DDR4 4000 MHz kit, then followed by a faster 4133 MHz kit last week. They didn’t take long to bump the speed up a notch, and G.Skill is now readying the DDR4 4200Mhz kit which is only 155 MHz behind G.Skill’s own world record for the fastest RAM clocks at 4355 MHz.

The G.Skill TridentZ is specially optimized for the latest Intel 6th Generation Skylake processor with the latest XMP 2.0 profiles. The G.Skill Trident Z 4200Mhz comes in 8GB (4GBx2) kits that will run at 1.4V.

Even though the RAM is designed to run at their rated clocks, there is only one motherboard which is in the Qualified Vendor List (QVL) and it’s the ASRock Z170 OC Formula. So if you are getting this kit make sure you have the ASRock board in your setup if you want guaranteed workability.

The price still remains unknown like the previous 4133 MHz kit but we are sure G.Skill will announce the prices very soon.

Pokdepinion: I don’t think this kit can benefit consumers with their usual workloads, but for PC enthusiasts this RAM kit is a must-have. Going that fast, are we going to see another world record soon?
