Coming to our shores this October is GALAX’s GAMER III RGB DDR4 (8GB) memory. The RAM runs at 2400 MHz but its main sales pitch is its RGB light bar that is certified to work with MSI Mystic Light RGB lighting control technology. This is an upgrade over the previous Gamer DDR4 memory kits which came with the option of fixed red, green or blue illumination.

With this new model, GALAX has implemented 10 RGB LEDs with a HOLTEK Lighting Control MCU to handle the effects. As we know, RAM is sensitive to even the most minor of interference, but GALAX has designed the PCB layout to minimize the interference to offer better stability in overclocking as well as to ensure that thermals are not severely affected by the RGB illumination.

As you can see, the MSI Z270 and X370 GAMING PRO CARBON is the first to the support the new Gamer III RGB series. You can use the MSI GAMING APP software and enter the light effect settings option which will automatically detect the GALAX GAMER III RGB RAM. There are a total of 9 presets that you can choose from and it can be set in a specific color if you so wish with the RGB hue ring lighting settings.

GALAX’s local distributor will be bringing in the 8GB single sticks to Malaysia, but pricing has yet to be confirmed at the time of writing. We will be sure to update you guys once we have more information.

Pokdepinion: If you prefer looks rather than performance, this looks like a good option but I’m sure GALAX will come up with even more powerful RGB RAM in the future. GALAX has experience with much faster RAM, so it will just be a matter of time.
