Yep. After some back and forth, the upcoming GeForce GTX GPUs will be part of the GTX 2000 family. Not the GTX 11-series. The new cards have apparently been registered for an ECC certificate, with the GPUs codenamed GA104 and GA104-400, believed to be the GeForce GTX 2080 and GTX 2070 respectively.

The codename GA points to these cards being based on the Ampere architecture, and not the Volta architecture NVIDIA introduced previously with the Tesla V100 and Titan V. Gamers are indeed skipping the Volta architecture, as leaked.

The new cards are expected to make an appearance very soon, and WCCFTech has some expected pricing for the upcoming GTX 2000-series cards. The GeForce GTX 2065 is expected to be priced at $499 (~RM2032), GeForce GTX 2070 at $599 (~RM2439) and GeForce GTX 2080 at $699 to $749 (~RM2846 to RM3050).

It seems that NVIDIA isn’t going to milk gamers even when the competition isn’t capable of putting up a fight. Also the previous generation of cards are also expected to drop by up to $100. Believe us now?

Pokdepinion: Hmm, I wonder if a single GeForce GTX 2080 can run at 144 Hz on 4K in AAA titles?
