Let’s face it, Malware is everywhere these days. With the Google Play Store the home where millions of Android users get their apps, it seems that Google is making an effort to make it a safer place by forming an alliance with a third-party protection service. The name? The App Defense Alliance.

The App Defense Alliance consists of Google, the people from NOD32, and Lookout, the folks behind Lookout Antivirus and Zimperium, who specialize in security.

How does it work? Well the alliance revolves around a two-way communication between Google as well as their partners to share details on threats, samples, detection systems, and feedback everything to members of the alliance.

This in turn means that Google is asking for help for others (from the alliance) to observe and lend a help in their effort to put a stop to malware on their store.

Pokdepinion: Over the top name in my opinion.. but hey, I don’t mind. As long as we’re getting the protection that we need, right?
