Grab today announced their commitment to #SaferEveryday which will see Grab enhancing their app to raise transport safety standards and to support community-focused efforts on safety. By partnering up with the Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM), Grab driver-partners all over the country will receive NUR Alerts to be on the lookout.

NUR Alerts, or National Urgent Response Alert system is a national initiative that helps spread information related to missing children under the age of 12 as quickly as possible. Via this partnership, Grab and PDRM will be able to harness the eyes and ears of hundreds of thousands of driver-partners to be more vigilant in their neighborhoods and inform the police if they do come across anything that might be of use to the authorities.

#SaferEveryday is not going to stop just there though. It’s going to be Grab’s initiative to ensure the highest standards of safety are applied to their entire business. Partnering with the authorities is just Grab’s first and most important step in their long term strategy for safety. With their wide network of users, they hope that they can improve community safety by increasing awareness and cultivating a zero-tolerance environment for harassment or criminal activities in and around Grab’s ecosystem which now encompasses more than just e-hailing, but also food and parcel deliveries and the Grab e-wallet.

24/7 customer support center, number masking, stringent driver background checks and verification are all key factors in Grab’s plans to improve safety, and they are going to continue investing in adding more safety features to their ecosystem.
