HONOR 20 and HONOR 20 Pro launched with quad-cameras — here’s the expected pricing of the HONOR 20 series in Malaysia!

The HONOR 20 series is now official with three members: the HONOR 20 Lite, HONOR 20 and HONOR 20 Pro. While we have the HONOR 20 Lite here in Malaysia already, the latter two has yet to make it here. And they look like pretty interesting devices, to say the least.

For starters, the HONOR 20 and HONOR 20 Pro both feature the same 6.26″ IPS LCD HONOR AllView display, which should satisfy those who want a slightly more compact smartphone than the HONOR View20. HONOR did throw in more cameras here, giving both the HONOR 20 and HONOR 20 Pro quad-camera setups. And there’s where the duo begins to differ.

HONOR 20 Pro

The HONOR 20 Pro will sport a 48MP f/1.4 rear camera with all the kinds of image stabilization you have ever heard of: AIS, OIS and EIS. The f/1.4 aperture is the largest we have seen on a smartphone thus far, and is supposed to offer much better low-light photography. The secondary 8MP f/2.4 telephoto camera is pretty similar to the HUAWEI P30’s with 3x optical zoom and a 5x “hybrid” zoom. And yes, it also comes with OIS. For those who are into landscape photography, the ultra-wide angle 16MP f/2.2 offers a 117° FoV, but unlike the HUAWEI P30 ultra-wide camera, there is no autofocus here. Instead, HONOR throws in a dedicated, 2MP f/2.4 macro camera with a 4cm fixed focus.

The HONOR 20 Pro is available in a 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration, and a 4000 mAh battery to back it all up. For charging you will get the 22.5W SuperCharge, as HONOR seems to be still locked out of HUAWEI’s 40W SuperCharge technology. Here are the HONOR 20 Pro specifications:

HONOR 20

This is somewhat of a more affordable version of the HONOR 20, but it drops quite a few features. It has no OIS on any of the cameras, and in place of the 3x telephoto camera is a 2MP depth sensor. It does still come with a 2MP macro camera, so you have two of the same 2MP f/2.4 cameras on the HONOR 20 Pro. Speaking of the aperture, the HONOR 20 also has a smaller f/1.8 aperture instead of the f/1.4 one the HONOR 20 Pro touts.

Storage and memory is also reduced here, with only 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It’s non-expandable, so media hoarders should probably opt for the HONOR 20 Pro. HONOR also shrunk the battery to 3750 mAh battery, but as we found in our review, it was already enough for 2 days of use. The specifications of the HONOR 20 are as follows:

HONOR 20 Expected Malaysian Pricing

Now we already know the HONOR 20 Lite’s local pricing, which is a pretty decent RM949. It’s European pricing is a whopping €299, or RM1397. So of course, that way off. If we do some simple maths to obtain a ratio, we would be getting the price of the HONOR 20 to be around RM1583. Factoring in the logistics and what not, we should be seeing the HONOR 20 priced at around RM1600~RM1699.
