If you are cost-conscious and still want a great smartphone, you could opt for the Honor 6X. The Honor 6X broke new grounds at CES 2017 with its premium dual-lens rear camera, extended battery life and rock-solid performance.

Honor says that this device is targetted for the young and bold consumers, delivering superb internet experience. It’s powerful and versatile all-rounder, packing top-of-the-shelf features empowering millenials to explore the world, cultivate their inner artist, and enjoy a world of music, gaming and movies.

Featuring a generous 5.5″ FHD (1080p) display, the Honor 6X boasts full metal slim body at 8.2mm thickness coupled with a 2.5D glass on it’s front facade and curved panel on the back.

Powerful dual-lens camera

The Honor 6X mostly highlights it’s dual-lens camera that offers a wide aperture range (F/0.95-F/16) giving you all the possibilities to unleash your creativity. It’s a 12MP camera responsible in composing the image while another 2MP camera identifies the depth of field information, delivering beautiful shots that are sharp and crisp. This, combined with it’s wide aperture, the Honor 6X produces blurry backgrounds, providing professional grade pictures standing out the main subject of the shot. The 1.25µm pixel size enables the Honor 6X to capture quality shots even in low-light settings. The Honor 6X’s camera uses Phase Detection AF, that allows for an ultra fast focus speed of 0.3 seconds.

Immersive Performance

Powered by a Kirin 655 that boasts an octa-core architecture, the Honor 6X provides glitch-free user experience. Kirin 655 is built with 4 cores clocked at 2.1GHz and another 4 cores clocked at 1.7GHz. There will be options for 3GB and 4GB RAM and a powerful i5 co-processor that will allow seamless gaming, browsing and listening to music or even multi-tasking for that matter. The Honor 6X also features Honor’s Smart File System that enhances Android’s EXT4 file system, preventing fragmentation and increasing the lifetime performance of the Honor 6X.

Long-lasting Juice

The Honor 6X comes with a 3340mAh battery. It’s 16nm CPU architecture and power saving technology further reduces power consumption. The Honor 6X is said to provide 2.15 days of normal usage and 1.5 days of heavy usage on a single charge. This is supported by an optimized proprietary 5V/2A charging technology that brings the power up quickly.

The Honor 6X will be available in three colors – gold, silver and gray. The 3GB variant will be available for purchase from 4th January onwards in selected markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq with other markets following later.

The 4GB variant will be available in the first quarter of 2017 in selected markets. The RRP of the 4GB will be prices at $299 USD.

Pokdepinion: Dual lens is no longer alien, Kirin 655 is okay, 3340mAh battery is sweet spot, 4GB is now common but the EXT4 filesystem is a YES for me! If you recall the days when Android 1.5 allowed SDcard partitions for external storage apps installation, you would remember how EXT4 was a bliss compared to all other filesystems and the fact that this will be available internally, this one is worth considering!
