HONOR 9X Pro to launch in Malaysia with Kirin 810 and 256GB storage

HONOR will be adding to their mid-range offerings with the HONOR 9X Pro, which comes with a Kirin 810 instead of the Kirin 710 powering the regular HONOR 9X. The device will be launching pretty soon, targeting the mid-range with stronger performance and more storage than the competition.

First off, the Kirin 810 enables a number of additional features that were missing from the HONOR 9X. While the camera hardware is pretty much the same as the standard HONOR 9X, the HONOR 9X Pro’s improved AI performance allows it to offer the impressive 48MP AI Super Clarity, a feature which was previously reserved for HONOR’s flagships.

In addition to strong AI performance, the HONOR 9X Pro also brings much stronger CPU and GPU chops, thanks to the much more recent architecture. It is also the only mid-range smartphone thus far to feature a 7nm chipset, which promises better efficiency than most of its peers.

And since you now have the capabilities to capture high-res 48MP images, the storage might be more of a concern than in other mid-range smartphones. HONOR Malaysia will be bringing in the 256GB variant of the HONOR 9X Pro, while also supporting expandable storage, allowing for up to 768GB of storage.

Design wise not much has changed, although the HONOR 9X Pro sees its fingerprint scanner moved over to the side. The back also looks a bit more premium with a smooth Phantom Purple color instead of the rather pixelated Sapphire Blue finish of the HONOR 9X. There’s no other color options though, but we are absolutely fine with it.
