How Long Will Final Fantasy VII Remake Be a PS4 Exclusive Game?

Final Fantasy VII Remake was initially announced in 2015 with a mention of it coming first to the PlayStation 4. Later on, Square Enix mentioned that they have no plans for the game to launch on other platforms. However, it turns out that it won’t be permanently exclusive to the platform.

Square Enix unveiled the official box art for Final Fantasy VII Remake back in September 2019. They’ve replicated the classic game cover from the original game. This same box art has been updated with a disclaimer which states that it will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 until 3rd March 2021, exactly one year after its release.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that the game will be coming to other platforms right after the exclusivity expires however. It could be coming at a later date as well. As for other platforms it will be coming, it is uncertain at the moment.

However, I am sure that it will be coming to next-gen consoles, at least the PS5, given the episodic nature of the game as well as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox Scarlett launching in Holiday 2020. We’ll be reporting more on this matter as soon as information becomes available so stay tuned.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will be coming exclusively to the PlayStation 4 on 3rd March 2020.

Pokdepinion: This doesn’t necessarily mean it will be coming to PC, at least not so soon. It might just end up being a next-gen console-exclusive game.
