Gaming on laptop is becoming more and more viable since NVIDIA has narrowed the gap between mobile GPUs and desktop graphics cards. HP is joining the party with a new gaming laptop, the HP Pavilion Gaming. At the moment there’s not much we can talk about it but it looks like HP is going to offer some hardware customization options.

But the first thing we notice that the HP Pavilion Gaming is packing a NVIDIA GTX 950M GPU, but we don’t know what kind of VRAM it will be paired with. The HP Pavilion Gaming should also be equipped with the latest Intel 6th-gen Skylake processor. Displaying all the pixels pushed by the GPU will be a rather pixel-starved 1366×768 15.6 inch screen, but luckily we will be provided with an option of upgrading to a FHD display. The NVIDIA GTX 950M should be quite sufficient for those resolutions.

Solid state storage is an optional upgrade since the HP Pavilion Gaming comes standard with a conventional hard drive. Memory configurations of up to 16GB is supported but will most probably come with 4GB or 8GB as the default configuration. Making most of the noise on the HP Pavilion Gaming are Bang & Olufsen speakers. The HP Pavillion Gaming will come with preloaded Windows 10.

The laptop weighs about 2.6KG and has a thickness of about 28.8mm. The starting price is USD 629 (around MYR 2700) with three variants. It will be launched in this November with more details, including price and configuration.

Pokdepinion : HP is well-known as one of the bigger PC manufacturers, and with the announcement of this new gaming laptop series we can tell HP is hungry for more. A Nvidia GTX 950M on a 1366x768p display is a good choice, it should good enough to power up most game on that resolution, and 768p can look quite good in 15.6 inches, given that it is a good panel.
