Found yourself coveting the dual-texture back of the Google Pixel but not ready to splurge that much on a smartphone? With HTC’s latest Desire 650 Dual SIM, you can get pretty much the same look for a lot less. The back features a 50% smooth and 50% grooved design, satisfying those who aren’t content with just one kind of finishing on the back of their smartphones.

The cool new back design isn’t solely for looks though. The grooved texture allows you to get a better grip on the device, while also easily knowing which way is up simply by holding the device. Round the front is a 5″ 720p display which is really quite outdated now in 2017, protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass for toughness. The display promises vibrant colors and also sports HTC Night Mode, which is probably HTC’s fancy name for a blue light filter.

A 13MP rear camera with a f/2.0 aperture gives the HTC Desire 650 Dual SIM its photography chops, with the BSI sensor set to deliver good images even in dim lighting. The 5MP front camera features HDR and a slew of features to improve your selfie-taking experience. With Google Photos, you won’t ever have to worry about storage, as you get free unlimited cloud storage for all your shots.

Performance is courtesy of a quad core Mediatek MT6735T mated to 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage. HTC promises a responsive user experience, and an enduring one at that, with the 3000 mAh battery keeping things running. With the HTC Boost+ feature, battery life will be further extended with dynamic memory cleaning, reducing the power used by background apps.

The HTC Desire 650 Dual SIM comes in at just RM619, yet offers the best of HTC, the customizable HTC Sense platform, which is arguably still the king when it comes to Android skins. With HTC Themes, you get access to thousands of professional looking themes with individualized icon packs, backgrounds, sounds and more. You can even create your own themes to show off your own unique style. It will be available in two colors, Dark Blue and White.

Pokdepinion: The HTC Desire 650 Dual SIM is a great value-for-money entry ticket into the HTC Sense experience. And trust me, once you try HTC Sense, no other Android skin will compare.

The Pixel is by HTC, and they have the HTC U11 as their flagship. This is just to fill up the lower price brackets :)
