HUAWEI devices from DirectD will be eligible for full refund if Google or Facebook apps stop working

In a move similar to what Philippines resellers have implemented, DirectD is offering a full refund for HUAWEI devices in the event that the US ban stops Google and Facebook apps from working. However DirectD has a slight twist on it.

Unlike what’s happening in the Philippines where the retailers are offering a full refund for 2 years, DirectD is only covering the devices within the warranty period. And they don’t seem to be guaranteeing any devices bought before the announcement was made, although there are some missing terms and conditions that DirectD has yet to mention.

HUAWEI smartphones are somewhat more affordable recently, with the HUAWEI Mate 20 Series undergoing major price cuts. With this guarantee, we might see more people pick up a HUAWEI device. The uncertainty about the future of HUAWEI devices has heavily impacted sales, so this move is definitely a welcome one. We can probably expect more resellers in Malaysia to emulate this very soon to move their inventory of HUAWEI devices.

It is confirmed that this initiative is by DirectD themselves, just like the move in the Philippines. HUAWEI Malaysia is not directly involved in this campaign.
