HUAWEI Malaysia Announces Inaugural HUAWEI Film Awards With Grand Prize Of $20,000

HUAWEI Malaysia today announce of their inaugural HUAWEI Film Awards in the country where they aim to encourage a new age of professional filmmakers and content creators by utilizing HUAWEI smartphones.

The awards was launched with a screening of short films directed by five local filmmakers and creators with the theme “Empowering Your Possibilities”, all done with the HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro.

If you’re interested, the HUAWEI Film Awards is an Asia Pacific festival, which means that participation from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines are eligible.

To join, you will need to film entirely on a HUAWEI smartphone with a running time within 5-10 minutes. You can also record any theme of storytelling but that needs to be in short form, less than 5 minutes.

The winner of the APAC Best Film Awards will win a grand prize of USD$20,000. The winner of Country Level Best Film in Malaysia will also walk away with a new HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro.
