While HUAWEI and Google may appeared to have fallen out in recent times, the HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro has just been relisted on Google’s list of Android Q Beta devices. This should allay worries about HUAWEI smartphones not featuring Android in the future. As it stands, HUAWEI devices will still be getting Android updates, and in the case of the HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro, even beta versions of upcoming Android releases.

The HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro is rather unique, as most of the devices in the list sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. Google’s support for the Kirin 980 paints a pretty image for the future of HUAWEI smartphones. One day, we may even see Google bring even deeper support for Samsung’s Exynos chipsets.

Here are the HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro’s specifications:

HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro Specs

  • Kirin 980, octa-core up to 2.6 GHz, 7nm FinFET
  • 256GB UFS 2.1 storage (expandable via NM card)
  • 6.39″ QHD+ OLED display, dual curve
  • 40MP f/1.8 + 8MP f/2.4 3x telephoto camera + 20MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera
  • 24MP f/2.0 selfie camera
  • 4200 mAh battery, 40W HUAWEI SuperCharge, 15W HUAWEI Wireless Quick Charge, wireless reverse charging
  • RM2599 (RRP: RM2999)
