HUAWEI’s hole-in-screen smartphone has just been launched in China, after more than their fair share of teasers. The HUAWEI nova 4 incidentally shares the same 48MP rear camera as the upcoming HONOR View20, as well as an in-screen camera.

The HUAWEI nova 4 comes with a Kirin 970 chipset mated to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The chipset is somewhat disappointing considering it was underwhelming even in 2018, and it will look worse going into 2019. Luckily the HONOR View20 will not share the same chipset.

The HUAWEI nova 4 comes in two variants, one with a rear-facing 48MP f/1.8 Sony IMX 586 camera which is mated with a 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. The other comes with a lower end 20MP f/1.8. The selfie camera on both variants is a 25MP f/2.0 one.

The display is a 6.4″ FHD+ LCD display, powered by a 3750 mAh battery complete with fast charging. Pricing starts from 3099 yuan (~RM1877) for the variant with the 20MP camera, and ranges up to 3399 yuan (~RM2058) for the higher end 48MP camera.

Local availability is still unknown, but with the HONOR View20 coming, do you think HUAWEI Malaysia will bring the HUAWEI nova 4 to Malaysia?

Pokdepinion: Perhaps using a Kirin 710 would have made the device more affordable, which will make it a much more interesting product?
