Intel To Host Extreme Masters 2018 PyeongChang – Preparing For The Olympic Winter Games

Intel has announce recently of their plans in holding the Intel Extreme Masters 2018 PyeongChang, ahead of next February’s Olympic Winter Games in Korea.

The tournament is set to feature one of the most celebrated esports title of all time, the ever so popular Star Craft II. They will also be having a separate exhibition featuring Ubisoft’s action-sports title, Steep Road to the Olympics, which is the official licensed game of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018.

The 2018 Intel Extreme Masters, which was made available by the duo of Intel and ESL, will be open to any player and at any level through global online qualifiers. These qualifiers will take place this November while a live qualifier event will also take place in Beijing in December between the top two qualifiers from China. The winner will be moving on to compete against the rest in PyeongChang in the lead up to the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

Intel and ESL will facilitate all events, which includes the online qualifiers, the live qualifier in Beijing, and the final tournaments leading up to the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. Intel will prepare and power all of the live Intel Extreme Masters events with the Intel Core i7 gaming processor, as well as the PCs used in the broadcast and backend cloud infrastructure.
