Snapdragon 801, 2GB RAM, 5″ 1080p screen, HTC BoomSound™, and not to forget the arguably best Android skin there is, HTC Sense™. Sounds like a HTC One M8, yeah? Wait a second. 13MP f/2.0 with Duo Camera technology? Say hello to the new HTC Butterfly 2.

It seems like HTC is finally giving up on it’s UltraPixel technology. UltraPixel has always received a lukewarm reception by its users, some seem to think it’s godsent while some think it’s just plain horrible.

Available in several colors, the plastic-bodied Butterfly 2 isn’t light at 151g and 9.99mm. It is powered by a 2700mAh battery as compared to the One M8’s 2600mAh one and also supports QuickCharge 2.0. It has water resistant ratings of IPX5, IPX7 and is dustproof rated at IP5X.

Slated to enter the Asian market starting with Taiwan by September 3 (which is on the same day as the Samsung Unpacked event to launch the Note 4), it will most definitely face heavy competition from the likes of the rumored Z3, aforementioned Note 4. Availability in Malaysia is confirmed though no launch date is mentioned. Pricing is not announced yet also. So is the change to a 13MP module good or bad news to you? Tell us in the comments section below :D
