One of the sleeper hits of the last generation will be back and better than ever before as Square Enix’s tactical RPG The Last Remnant Remastered is coming.

The Last Remnant Remastered Announced by Square Enix

Not too long ago, we learned that Square Enix would be removing The Last Remnant from Steam. It seemed like a rather odd move given how popular the game was. Now we know why as The Last Remnant Remastered has been announced. It will be released in Japan on 6th December 2018.

The Last Remnant Remastered will be a digital-only title on the PS4. It’ll also drop Unreal Engine 3 in favour of a more modern game engine. Since its launch back in 2008 for the Xbox 360 and PC, you don’t hear too many, if any, Square Enix fans talking about The Last Remnant.

When it launched nearly 10 years ago, the game received mixed reviews. As of right now we do not know whether or not the remaster will be localized.

We’ll hopefully hear more about the remastered version of the game once Tokyo Game Show begins later this month on 20th September 2018. You can check out the reveal trailer at the top of this post but you can also see more at the game’s website.

Once again, The Last Remnant Remastered will be coming exclusively to the PlayStation 4 on 6th December 2018 in Japan. No word yet on an English release.

Pokdepinion: Personally, I enjoyed playing the game on my old Xbox 360 but I can understand why people couldn’t get into it. It’s still a JRPG and feels like it but the combat mechanics are somewhat unique, and it has a bit of a slow start.
