HONOR Malaysia has revealed today that there will be an update for their HONOR Band 5 which will allow for Pulse Oxygen Saturation (Sp02) monitoring and remote music control feature, which will be coming through an OTA (over-the-air) update this 29th September 2019.

HONOR Band 5 users can use the Sp02 by going to the HUAWEI Health app and tap on “check for updates”. This will prompt the band to update automatically. If your blood oxygen levels is between 90% and 100%, that’s considered normal. If it is under 89%, it’s a sign that you should stop exercising or seek medical attention.

As for the remote music control, it will also come in at the same date through an update. Once your band is updated and the music control is switched on (through the HUAWEI Health app), you can use the HONOR Band 5 to instantly view and control your favorite music from your wrist. Apps that’s supported include Google Play Music, Spotify, YouTube, Shazam, HUAWEI Music, and much more. Do take note that the remote music control is compatible for smartphones that run Android 5.0 and above.

At the moment, you can get the HONOR Band 5 at only RM139 in conjunction with HONOR’s Pay Day Sale. For more details on that, do check out our previous coverage.
