Microsoft’s Surface tablets look good but their pricing is a big turn off for most of us. They seem to understand that as well. The new Surface Go is their most affordable yet, priced from just $399.

The new Surface Go is smaller, thinner and lighter than any Surface ever. It can be configured to come with Windows 10 Pro too, so there’s full support for your productivity suite. The Surface Go is powered by a dual-core Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y and can be configured with up to 8GB of RAM. Storage comes in the form of 64GB eMMC flash or a 128GB SSD. Microsoft promises up to 9 hours of battery life on the Surface Go, which is pretty respectable.

The 10″ Pixel Sense display sports a resolution of 1800 x 1200 (3:2), is touch sensitive and can support the Pixel Pen too with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity. Microsoft didn’t skimp on the materials either, despite this being their “budget” model, with a magnesium chassis and the latest Surface Hinge used here.

For productivity, it can be used on the go with a Signature Type cover or used as a desktop workstation with the Surface Dock. The Surface Go is priced from $399 (~RM1607) and is available for pre-order in several regions already, while Malaysians will have to wait until 2nd August to pre-order it.
